Using GearBook

Terms of Use

Basic terms for the GearBook private-development service.

Last updated August 6, 2026

These terms govern access to GearBook during its private-development period. By using GearBook, you agree to use the service responsibly and in accordance with these terms.

Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for activity performed through it. Provide accurate account information and notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.

Your content

You retain ownership of the gear information, photos, documents, and stories you submit. You grant GearBook the limited permission needed to store, process, display, and transmit that content to operate the service and fulfill sharing choices you make.

Only upload content you have the right to use. Do not upload unlawful, harmful, deceptive, infringing, or malicious material.

Sharing

GearBook is private by default, but you may choose to create an unlisted link or publish selected item information. Anyone who receives an unlisted link may be able to view it. Review shared information before distributing a link or publishing an item.

Pre-release service

GearBook is still in development. Features may change, experience interruptions, or be withdrawn. Keep independent copies of documents or information that you cannot afford to lose; GearBook should not be your only record of ownership, value, warranty, insurance, or tax information.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with other users, probe or overload the service, distribute malware, or use GearBook to violate the rights of another person.

Suspension and termination

Access may be limited or terminated when reasonably necessary to protect GearBook, its users, or third parties, or when these terms are materially violated. You may stop using GearBook and delete your data through the Account screen.

Disclaimers

During private development, GearBook is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. GearBook does not provide appraisals, insurance, legal advice, tax advice, or guarantees about the value or ownership of equipment.

Changes and contact

These terms may be updated as the service develops. Questions can be sent tosupport@gearbook.app.
